Thank you for posting your tutorials and tips on deviantart! It's inspiring to me, as an aspiring writer, to have someone with your expertise lay out the concepts so clearly. I have not read through them all yet, but I am excited to do so. (PS - your notes women vs men were so helpful!)
(PS - your notes women vs men were so helpful!)When I was a beginning writer I read a lot of tutorials--a LOT of them. Sadly, only a few made sense. Eventually, I figured out what those tutorials were saying--after I had already learned that technique.
The more of those I found, the more I thought to myself, "What the...? Isn't a tutorial supposed to teach the technique to those who Don't know it yet?
I eventually figured out why those didn't make sense until 'after'. It was because they kept leaving out the most important part of ANY tutorial: the How-To part.
Ever since I figured that out, I've been on a crusade to provide Useful & Helpful How-Tos for writing.
Long story short, if you happen to find a tutorial that doesn't make any sense, send me the link and I'll write a 'translation' of it for you--with examples! *grin*
